Article Marketing Tip
The objective of this post is to arm you with a vital weapon in the article marketing game.

Creating an author bio box is one thing, creating an bio box that gets read and gets viewed is another.

This post will help you understand the reader's decision process and what makes him want to click on your author bio box or not. And this could mean the difference between a sale made (or not), a new opt-in (or not), a new customer (or not). It could be one of the vital differences between success and failure.

Let's pause for a moment and 'get into' the mind of a typical person who lands on and reads an article on Ezinearticles.

Say there's an irritating pimple right smack on my nose and I'd want to clear it quickly and painlessly.

I go to Google and search for various terms, perhaps like "clear pimples fast", "free and easy way to clearing my pimple", "fast solution for pimples" and so on and so forth…

Chances are I will have searched multiple times, clicked on several Adwords ads and viewed several articles at the same time!

So how do you stand out and get noticed?

I might click on some article's author resource box. I may not. The process really is this:

1. Search for information on Google
2. Clicks on your article to read
3. Clicks on your bio box link
4. Click through to order through your affiliate link

Take a good hard look at the information, there are so many possible 'drop-out' points where the reader could just press back or hit the 'x' button on the top right hand corner.

The drop-out points:

(Ladies: for sake of simplicity I'll use a 'he')

(1) He might not search for your term that you've optimized for. He might not click on your article. He might click on the Adwords ads and not click on your article.

(2) Your article might not match what he's looking for. He might lose interest halfway through the article.

(3) He might have found what his looking for and has no need to click on the link. He might click on the Adsense ads displayed on the article directory. He might click on the 20+ links on the navigation panel…

Here's how you're going to counter that and dramatically increase your changes of getting clicked on!

1. Create at least 2 articles for each search phrase you're targeting for. This doubles your exposure and increases your
chances of at least getting one clicked and read.

2. Write in an engaging and interesting tone like you're conversing with your friend. And take care not to give away too much information. You'll want to provide solid information but just enough to bait him/her to click on your link.

3. Maximize the use of links in your author bio box! If it allows for you to display 3, display it! Use a variation for the links.

4. Sell your own product! It isn't as hard as it sounds like it is. And it really isn't! Why build someone else's business when you could be building your own and selling your own products?

You don't have to actually create it; you can get PLR rights or Resell Rights to a product to sell for 100% profits!

This cuts down the step of the reader: going to your blog or presell page => seeing your affiliate link => clicking on it.

More importantly, you're in control of the sales process!

Your author bio box should never ever be about yourself! It must be about your readers and inducing them to click on your links…

One trick is to 'tie in' what they are searching for into your bio box.

Make your link the solution to what they are searching for!

In your bio box, you have to hit them fast and hit them hard. Remember you're competing with a bunch of Adsense ads and several other navigation links and distractions.

You've got to reach out of their screen, grab hold of their head and make you're their eyes stay on your bio box!
